Born in Montreal, Suzanne Bélair grew up in Laval, and now lives in Pointe-Claire, Québec. At around 12, her passion for oils began and never stopped since. Despite various explorations with other mediums, it is always to oil that she returns and it is with this medium that she continues to explore life's beauty and wonderment.
After completing a certificate in fashion design, and studies in finance, and while pursuing a productive business career, she continues to study with different artists and modern masters, art always being part of her life. Along the way, she also completes a B.Sc. in biology with a concentration on ecology and environment. Since 2007, her life is dedicated to painting, writing and contributing whichever way she can. She maintains two blogs, one in English, one in French on art, creativity, life and environment. She continues to take workshops regularly to push her art further and attends weekly live model workshops to keep up her drawing skills.
Suzanne is a signature member of the Institut des Arts Figuratifs (IAF), Artists for Conservation (AFC), and Lakeshore Association of Artists. She has juried several art shows and participated in more than 50 group exhibits and symposiums as well as two solos since 2008.
Through her art, she supports several causes, including the fight against cancer, environmental and animal protection, the well-being of the physically handicapped, women victims of violence and research on dystonia .
