SHOPPING FOR A CAUSE
We have seen a world wide INCREASE of family VIOLENCE. As we are all spending more time indoors, take this opportunity to brighten up your home with an original painting from Canadian artists. ALL proceeds raised will benefit services offered to victims of abuse.
WHY YOU SHOULD BUY OUR ART
The Shield has held an art auction for 27 years. The event promotes art of different genres and supports many Canadian artists. At the same time, it raises funds benefitting services to victims of family violence.
Annually, the Shield offers services to over 600 women at our 2 centers. It provides housing at our emergency shelter to another 100 women and children. Around 50 presentations are given so as to raise awareness about family violence, Quebec's laws and resources.
THIS IS ALL DONE IN UP TO 17 LANGUAGES.
26TH VIRTUAL SOUVENIR BOOK
We are happy to share our 1st VIRTUAL souvenir book! It's where you can learn more about us, our services, our events, our artists and our supporters! HAPPY READING!
I want to help victims of conjugal violence because I went through a very hard time, but thanks to The Shield, I now have a very happy life.”.
Ex resident of the Shield's emergency shelter, and very talented artist, who now supports the Shield's mission through her artwork.
As an immigrant woman, it seemed others were always making decisions for me. The Shield workers showed me how to use public transport, open my own bank account, take a computer course and buy groceries - all for the first time!
Survivor of violence and participant in Shield's workshops
As the spokesperson for this year’s event, I was so proud to take part in the extraordinary work they do. To witness the day-to-day productivity of the committed team was to garner insight into the transformative role they play in so many lives.
